What's for Dinner, Wed., Mar. 6, 2019

As I walked in the door from work, I see pork cutlets being dipped in egg and rosemary. So breaded cutlets, I assume.

A very unusual salad: shredded Savoy cabbage mixed with grated carrot and scallions. Cornichons. The dressing is creamy. There are bright red slices of what I thought was beet but it's not dark enough. It's bright red and the RG tells me it's a mushroom. Whoever heard of a bright red mushroom?

Oh, and potatoes. Little Yukon golds. I think they're going to be mashed.

a lemon/garlic caper sauce...crispy roasted rosemary potatoes...steamed asparagus and a nice NZ sauv blanc. I’d better get my booty off of the couch and get in the kitchen.

I made dinner just for myself tonight, so I cubed a potato and tossed it into the wok to brown. Then I added a chopped onion and a chopped sweet red pepper. When it was all nicely browned, I sliced a sausage—Niman Ranch, the good stuff—and tossed that in to heat through. One pan, one bowl, and it was tasty.

But it was souped up ramen noodles in the end. I used chuck roast that I was also prepping to go in the oven to roast with veggies for tomorrow.
