What's for Dinner, Tues., May 28, 2019

The RG made me curried lamb soup before he took off for Manhattan for the night. It has couscous (the large kind) and carrots from my garden in it.

He also made a tossed salad and put all different types of greens in that I'm growing. There is everything! Bibb lettuce, red sails, butterleaf, buttercrunch, red oak, two types of baby arugula, and he even used the carrot tops, which I thought were poisonous but I checked Google and they're not. They are, however, bitter. Homemade croutons on top, made with herbs and garlic.

For dessert, I'm having banana cream pudding, low-cal style. Chamomille tea.

It was a long and disappointing day at work and I don't feel like cooking.

Special sushi rolls for the Landlady(!).

Sashimi deluxe with salad and miso soup for me.

Then a stout Suntory whisky.

I'm traveling the next few days but will try to check in.

And my best wishes to you, elleng!

I'm going to Detroit to see a little musical called "The IT Girl" based on a silent film that starred Clara Bow. I hope it will be worth the trip.

Needless to say, I plan to eat well while traveling.

I took out chicken to thaw but it's still too frozen to work with.

Mom & Dad had liver and onions in gravy over rice, carrots, leftover asparagus and sliced tomatoes.

Quick pasta and chickpeas from The Smitten Kitchen: https://smittenkitchen.com/2017/10/quick-pasta-and-chickpeas-pasta-e-ceci/
I had fresh rosemary from the Farmers Market and it really made it sing. I also had some sturdy spinach from the market, not suitable for salad, that I sauteed with garlic and tamari. More leftover thumbprint cookies than I ought to have had for dessert ....

Most of my posts in WFD were wholesome (and often vegetarian), but my son was celebrating both college graduation and his birthday, so he got what he wanted.
Bye.
