What's for Dinner, Fri., July 5, 2019

Tacos, only fixed in a different way than the usual. The RG used ground pork. Then he put a few cannellinis over the top and on top of that was a dressing made of sliced peppers (green, yellow), and sliced savoy cabbage. Very different than the usual and very good--I just had my first taste.

We're using a hard shell corn taco.

A friend gave us some NY Cheesecake so we're splitting a piece tonight.

I'm grilling hamburgers and German sausages.

Fresh corn on the cob: I butter the ears then salt and pepper them before wrapping them in foil. The cook nicely on the grill if you turn them every few minutes.

Fresh salad from the Landlady(!)'s garden: Red leaf and green leaf lettuces along with some spinach and tomatoes.

I think I saw a couple of Klondike bars in the freezer...

6 hours for the ribs. I make my own dry rub then smoke for 3 hours, wrap in foil for two more hours then finish with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce for the last hour. Beans start with the trinity sauteed in bacon fat and season with salt, pepper, cumin and some secret additions. Potato salad has celery, red onion, parsley, tarragon, eggs and a mustard/olive oil dressing.

Watermelon for desert.

and I'm going to try that potato salad combo. I have lots of tarragon, love it, and think it goes great with potatoes.

Italian sausage sliders or parm chicken. I'm betting leftovers.
