What's for Dinner, Thurs., Aug. 22, 2019

I'm thinking just a salad, although the RG might have other thoughts. If we do have the salad, it will be with grilled beets, feta cheese, and toasted pecans.

At the Portuguese restaurant I had a whole bronzini, grilled. Was it ever delicious. It came with a big plate of vegetables (carrots, broccoli, green beans, potatoes). Had a crab cake and salad as appetizer. The crab cake was no filler: pure crab meat! The RG had chicken with mashed potatoes. For dessert, chamomile tea and orange cake. It was so much that we only had about a quarter of it and brought the rest home.

A browse through the fridge yielded some carrot strips, raspberries, and Greek yogurt. The pantry yielded a can of kippered herring. So, yes, I snacked for dinner, but at least it was healthy snacks.

What we call a "feed yourself" night. I haven't decided yet. May involve corn chips and salsa.

add pineapple and greek yogurt instead of sour cream. I started using that because it is a zero point food (fat free) on weight watchers but I really like it now. I found non-dairy yogurt and cheese at whole Foods for my dairy intolerant daughter. Your dinner sound way more exciting. We are going to meet a young man who is probably our future son in law...so we are searching for a restaurant in Cleveland to take them to dinner and then a play...going to look for one that can recreate what you had today!

meeting your potential new son-in-law!

I'm happy for you.

English teachers are always interested in hearing what play you might see.
