What's for Dinner, Fri., Mar. 27, 2020

The RG made country pate and I'm making apple salad with celery, pecans, and golden raisins.

If I have the energy, for dessert I'd like to make oatmeal-cranberry-walnut cookies. And that is from a mix. I am running on fumes. Instead I might curl up on my bed and continue to read "Rip Van Winkle," which I started last night.

that is closing for good next week.

With the increased rents in the updated shopping center, the age of the owners, and this virus close down, they can't make it on take out and delivery only. I imagine a lot of restaurants and shops along our Main Street will be going under since we have no students in town. Summer is always a slower paced time, but that's when all the locals 'take back the town" from the Univ. students, and restaurants are full of local homeowners and visitors. Now there are no students during what would be their peak time, no Univ. functions, no locals, and no visitors. Places that were just getting buy previously, just can't make it during this time. They did say after we are back to normal, they may open another venture with a third generation.

I will be venturing out to the store sometime this coming week since my friend just sent me his recipe for Shrimp Bisque

beans on the side and the last of the Italian bread. Nothing great but we had a ton of veggies yesterday.
