Breakfast! Refrigerator Cinnamon Rolls in the Air Fryer

OK I bought this tube of cinnamon rolls to test in my air fryer and this was the day. I used a small silicone cake pan that fit in the air fryer basket so I could add extra goodies.

Loaded Cinnamon Rolls

Soak 1/2 C raisins in Sherry until soft
2T melted butter, divided
1/2 C packed brown sugar, divided
Powdered cinnamon to taste
1 tube refrigerator cinnamon rolls
1/4 cup chopped nuts (I used walnuts)

Pour all but about 1 t. of the melted butter in the cake pan. Sprinkle half the brown sugar over the melted butter. Spread the raisins over the bottom of the cake pan. Sprinkle on as much cinnamon as you like, I use lots. Place the cinnamon rolls in the cake pan. It will be a tight fit, but that's OK this will force them to rise up rather than spread out. Use a chopstick or a small knife to poke holes around the layers of each roll and push in the chopped nuts. Brush the top of each roll with the the reserved 1 t. of melted butter. Dust more cinnamon on top.

Set the air fryer at 360 for 8 minutes. Check at 6 minutes. When the cinnamon rolls are done, drizzle the frosting on top and serve warm, spooning up some of the raisins and the sauce over your roll.

If you are in a hurry, you can skip all the extra goodies I added and just go for the plain Jane version which is still going to cook fast in the air fryer.

A photo. They were a bit too sweet for my tastes, but mr procon was happy... That man is an easy keeper, he'll eat most anything. With the added brown sugar and the frosting it was over kill. Next time (yeah, I think I'll be making these a lot) maybe I'll only use 1/4 C brn sugar on the bottom only, and none on the top.

They went fast and the smell was wonderful. I made coffee to go with them, good breakfast!

I'll have to try it. Of course I'd have to let it rise first. I've got a few bags in my freezer, and I'm sure I'm not going to want to be turning on my oven for awhile. It's supposed to be 92 degrees here today.

Thanks for the idea.

my air fryer. Supposed to be 97 today and I sure don't need the open heating up the house. The air fryer didn't heat up anything which makes if perfect for hot summer cooking.

I haven't used the frozen rolls, but there's no reason why they wouldn't work. Try it and just keep checking your timing to see what works best.

I'm thinking about getting one for veggies, just for a different flavor other than steamed.

had, which at the time was about $60. I've had it for about 3 years and no problems, so I definitely got my money's worth. There are units that are somewhat larger, but not bigger that made the higher price worth while.

They all work the same, and every brand I've looked at has the same range of temp and timer settings, so paying extra for a big brand name was irrelevant for me. Likewise, recipes are interchangeable and the internet is full of them, free! The only thing that was a must have for me was dishwasher cleanup, no hand washing for this old girl.

I haven't used mine for too many vegetables, as we like them steamed tender, crisp. I have made veggie and potato chips that are very tasty. We love the French fries, hash browns, tater tots and potato skins. Some some reason roasted Brussels sprouts are lots better than steamed. Onion rings are great in the air fryer. Tempura battered veggies are a big favorite.

You'll find lots of ways to use an air fryer, and just browsing through all the creative recipes people have come up with will keep you well fed.

I got it at JCPenney at a Black Friday sale in 2018. It was $5 after the mail in rebate. I figured it'd be a good way to try one out before buying a "good" one. It's still working just fine and I use it a lot. Mine is just a small one, and I've thought about buying a bigger one, but then figured I'd just eat more.

Yes, onion rings are great. I used to stop in at Sonic for onion rings every once in awhile, and now I don't have to. Bonus, they're not so greasy. I even make those little pot pies, but I do a combination of air fryer and microwave to make sure the center is done.

IMO, an air fryer is a great purchase. I'm sure that even if I had paid a lot more, it would have paid for itself in electricity savings because I don't have to preheat an entire oven, plus baking time, just to make one thing.

I can't wait to try the cinnamon roll thing, but I have some great bagels that I need to eat first, while they're fresh.
