This ain't yo mama's cranberry sauce!
I graduated from the can about 10 years ago. This relish is a hit with even the kids.
Bag of cranberries
1 orange
1 jalapeño (leave half the seeds in for kick)
1 slice of red onion
a bit of fresh ginger
1/4 - 1/2 c sugar
Best to use a food processor or chopper.
Process or chop all the canberry, jalapeño and onion on pulse until fine dice size.
Zest the orange, grate the ginger.
Next, juice theorange and add that and the sugar. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper and let marinate for at least one hour. Perfect with turkey
Have a good one today!

(36,460 posts)Now I'm eating it with Ritz crackers and cream cheese. Very good. I was out of ginger so I used to little bit of ginger syrup. Very tasty.
It pairs ever so well with turkey!
But it WOULD be awesome with cream cheese! I will do that with my leftover relish.
One cream cheese log I like is dried cranberry and pistachio. Just mix up those three ingredients and shape into a log. Top with more chopped cranberry and pistachio. Christmas colors.

(10,134 posts)cranberries, orange (the original recipe I got back in the 80s wanted a whole orange, but now I use the zest and the pulp), and, since I had one ripe one left on the bush, a habenero. Chop all together in a blender or food processor, let sit a few hours, and serve. Yesterday's leftovers are going into tomorrow's turkey tacos.
