What's for Dinner, Fri., Nov. 27, 2020

Breaded pork cutlet and a breaded chicken cutlet. Both have that crispy golden exterior.

Vegetable souffle. Very light, airy.

Brussels sprouts with pancetta, seared in the cast iron skillet.

Tossed vegetable salad with some cherry tomatoes I bought at the store today. The tomatoes are all different kinds: yellow, striped, red round, red grape, etc. There's even one that looks like it's white!

Salad also had long white radish in it, red onion, asparagus, sliced red and green pepper. Toasted walnuts on top.

Dessert: sliced apple with nut butter. Tea.

with leftover sides

I am happy to eat it again tonight.

My neighbor asked me this afternoon if there were leftovers. I plated him up another full dinner just like last night. FLFC luvs him and gives him a little high pitched bark when he spots him.

We'll have the balance of last night's feast. Then that's it for the bird.

Stuffing, steamed spinach, roasted Brussel sprouts and half a sweet potato. Gravy.

Pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream.

Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite meal, which goes at least double if Mom made it. Aside from the sentimental goodies like the cooking scents and memories, it’s allll about the leftovers, all thrown together in a big bowl. This year we had creamed spinach with parmesan and it has been like the one missing puzzle piece I didn’t even know I was missing in my leftovers. So good. I’m a little sad now, though, because I only have enough gravy left for one more bowl of deliciousness.
