Edamame (edible soybean) question -- Is it too late to plant now?

I'm in zone 5-6, Hudson Valley and the average last frost was one month ago. I had/have a spot on a larger organic farm here but they keep putting off planting. Now they are telling me one more week at minimum and I am stuck. I think I have missed the season.

I know precious little about farming but I grew last year and picked some of the easier crops to focus on this year. I don't want to seed, weed, and feed for 75 days if I am going to wind up with stunted dwarf plants with tiny beans. I have Midori Giant and it is my understanding that edamame is photo sensitive so it all comes into harvest at the same time (for us around Aug 7) and regardless of how many days it has been in the ground.

I'm very disappointed now because this is the second crop I am having to abandon this season. The first was snow peas and since the heat kills them they are also not worth planting now. I was ready to go with all this stuff -- drip tape, seed, innoculants -- at the end of March but I don't own the farm so I have been at their mercy.

Any advice is appreciated.

1. My snow peas are only maybe 4 inches high so far

and we're already hitting 80s routinely during the day. I don't see them making it this year. I wish I could give you advice on thr edamame, but I've never planted them.
