Happy Foster Mother's Day to all who foster animals (warning cuteness overload!!!)

Mimi and her 5 babies at the county animal shelter:

First day with me. Employees at animal shelter put an orphan kitten in with Mimi--the orange tabby (which turned out to be the sweetest of all.)

They're growing!!

After being bottle fed for 7 days:

This was a great experience. Mama Mimi was a very sweet, placid soul, but extremely thin so I started bottle feeding the kittens after only a few days. The kittens were so cute, fun, and will be great pets for someone. This little family is with a rescue group, now, and Mimi will be spayed after she has finished lactating. All will be available for adoption.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful folks who foster animals.

And Happy Mother's Day to you, for all that you do. And of course to Mimi.

Fostering has to be the hardest thing in the world. I only did it once, when a mother cat was killed in a manufacturing plant and had five newborns......and my SO brought them home in a box and dumped them on me. I was totally ignorant about what to do, but I did it just the same with Similac (who knew they had KMR). It broke my heart to give them to great homes, and warmed my heart at the same time. But that was really hard work, and hard to part with them.

Thanks to all foster moms.

I just placed a 5-year-old tabby who mothered 40 orphan kittens. Blessings to her and her new peeps!
