What a wonderful way to start my day . . . . .
. . . . . . almost every day I take my breakfast and coffee out on the deck. It is quiet and peaceful out there. The hummingbirds are more numerous than I have ever seen them anyplace else. Even the white tailed rats (deer) passing through the woods don't bother me (as long as they stay away from my tiny driveway-side garden).
But the real joy of it is being surrounded by my dogs. They just lay quietly, content to simply "be". Every now and then a wet nose or a gentle paw touches me.
Dogs. They ask so little and give so much.
Dogs. Unconditional love.

...and what a lovely picture you paint. Later this year I hope to have a gate built for my front porch so that I can do just what you do in the morning, with my girls at my side. Even though I'm a city-dweller, my street is very quiet except for an hour or two when the kids play in the street ("get off my lawn!"
. For the other 22 hours, it's heaven.
