Related: About this forumReally funny and unique squeaky toys - sale!
I was looking for something on the Leerburg site when I noticed on the front page since they're on sale these hilarious squeaky toys for dogs that I've never seen before anywhere. They're marked down from $9.99 to $6.50, and unfortunately I don't know when the sale ends. They're beer, wine and (one) soda bottles made of tough rubber that make a loud squeak that use recognizable beers or wines and change the names to something really funny with appropriate cute cartoons on the labels, like...

Corona Extra becomes "Cataroma Extra"
Mountain Dew becomes "Mountain Drool"
And my personal favorite -
Heineken becomes "Heinie Sniff'n"
Among many others.
I've bought a few things from Leerburg before (which was how I found them in the first place) since they carry items that are hard as hell to find, will only carry items they've tried themselves and approve of, and shipping costs are only $4.99 per order shipped in the US (except Hawaii and Alaska) and except for really giant items. I also found out that their return and replace system is excellent as well since I did buy something once that turned out to be the wrong size so I returned it for the right size, and I couldn't believe how fast they were getting the whole business taken care of and the item that was the right size back to me. They also try really hard to find various products to offer for sale that are made in the US and are environmentally friendly... the "popcorn" packaging stuff they use you can actually eat, so it's not the typical styrofoam stuff!
And here's a funny video about the "popcorn" packaging stuff they use that you can actually eat and is really environmentally friendly...

And to anyone that's interested for themselves or to suggest to their groomer (if you use one) is a fantastic dog dryer machine that's amazing called the K9II here...

It's got a hefty price tag, but it could be worth it for someone with a really hairy dog or to a groomer. They have other machines that aren't nearly as pricey, but this one blows on you it looks like what someone's face does when they're free-falling from an airplane before deploying a parachute.
There's also a funny video on the site of it being demostrated...

One of the first things I'm going to buy when I get a job (which hopefully is really soon) is a few of those squeaky bottle toys. I think they're funny as hell, really unique, it's hard to find good toys that my dog can't destroy in a few minutes, and as far as I'm concerned dogs just can't have enough fun toys. Now I wish I had people to buy for for Christmas that have dogs.

(11,065 posts)I think all their rubber toys are made from recycled car tires. I think I read that on the site somewhere.
I never knew that car tires were recycled for anything until a few years ago I ran into an old friend that I knew when I was 18 and 19 (one of those people you were sure were either going to be in jail or dead before their mid-20's) and he has an excellent business collecting used car tires and taking them to where ever it is that recycles them. He started out by buying an ancient used school bus that he gutted and drove around everywhere picking up the tires, and almost right away was making money hand over fist. Why can't I ever come up with an excellent idea like that? That's like the 4th or 5th old friend that I found out came up with some fantastic idea for a business and is now raking it in... and every one of them (ok, except for one) I thought were losers that wouldn't amount to anything.

(18,219 posts)that they are for dogs. I can see these made for cats as well, but without the squeak and made out of cloth stuffed with cotton and catnip in one end. One of my cat's favorite toy is what we call a "kicky stick". Nothing cute like these, but he loves to attack it and roll around kicking at it, plus he carries it around like he is a dog with a bone. I could see a kicky stick made to look like a bottle of beer.

(11,065 posts)I know what you mean about that kicky thing they do. The two cats my family had when I was a kid had a little stuffed bunny that one of them liked to "hug" and then kick at it like mad with her back legs.
I thought that the company that makes these squeaky toys might also have some version for cats, but it looks like even the unbrulla company of Tuffy's toys (VIP Products) only makes toys for dogs.

What a bummer! It's such a great idea for a cat toy!
