An injured Houston dog had an incredible thousand-mile journey that saw her travel in a private jet, spend five days lost in the freezing snow of Chicago and get her face on TV.
The doberman named Madison was found living in dismal conditions with her three puppies in northwest Houston right after the start of the new year.
Vets said Madison had a spinal injury and they were amazed she could even walk. One of her puppies had a broken leg that would have to be amputated.
Charity Corridor Rescue volunteer Larrisa Gavin found Madison and her pups and got to work finding them homes.
"I had reached out to every rescue I could think of," said Gavin.
The group thought a happy ending was in sight when they found a shelter to take care of the puppies, but for Madison the story was just beginning.
