the pet group at du should be a safe place for people to share the experience of having pets. the depth of that emotional connection should be respected here, both our connection to our own pets and to animals in general. although there are many possible flashpoints issues around animals, please discuss them without getting personal. this includes derailing threads about personal situations with contentious issues.

I'd like to point out that DU has an animal rights group and it might be better suited for more controversial animal welfare/animal rights/animal activism issues that are raised here from time to time - especially when those discussions are not related to specific pets.
I don't want to piss on anybody's happy thread. Or sad thread. Promise.

(53,919 posts)I rarely see issues in this forum. Every now and again, one or two crop up. It may not be popular, but I am a fan of examples. Doesn't have to be long-winded, but a general idea. Just a thought.

(69,982 posts)it's a brand thing. although the last line in the education part of my resume says that i went to good catholic schools for 12 years where they taught me all the rules, even tho i don't use them in my own work. i suppose i lose a job for this reason from time to time, but....
