But maybe he was nerves and shaking because he missed his handler. I bet the signs of PTSD disappeared after he was united with his new owner. Yes, a happy story!

I'm so glad Angie McDonnell was able to get Vidar out of Afghanistan and home with her where he can relax and have the good life that he deserves.

It's wonderful enough as it is, but I looked at the map of Wales and discovered that Ms. McDonnell and Vidar live seventeen miles from my old pen pal's town, Bridgend. My pen friend (as she called pen pals), Pamela, and I wrote to each other when we were 13-14, and less frequently until we were in our late teens. Much of our correspondence at first was Beatle related since that was 1964!
On a trip I took in my twenties, I met her, and her husband and kids, parents, sisters, and other family members.
I'd love to go back there with my husband and son some day. My husband has an AFS exchange student brother in England who he visited, and who came to California on a trip with his wife 16 years ago, so we could see him and his family, too.

Here's a link with a video about another bomb sniffer dog, Sunny, who went home to England about three years ago with the Army reservist he served with at the same camp in Afghanistan as Ms. McDonnell and Vidar.
