Related: About this forumhe's the red headed baby i never got.
you know how it is. if the gene for red hair exists in your family, you hope for your baby to get it. my mother had no redheaded children, but did get a few grandchildren. none were mine, although i have a daughter whose hair is on the edge, a dark auburn. in some light you could see the red. i watched her fuzzy little baby head for hours, trying to decide what color it was really.
so, here is my redhaired baby, finally. his eyes might be blue.
the check is in the mail.

(11,065 posts)All body with bitsy little parts... that grow seemingly independent of each other at different rates. I thought Boo would never grow into his donkey ears. The one I have now though seems to have all his various parts growing somewhat uniformly except he did have a very brief long-legged stage... but it followed his stumpy-legged stage, so I guess it all worked out. Eventually they grow into themselves somehow. At this age though they all seem to be all big belly with some bitsy little attachments.

(70,088 posts)and some bully butt. all he needs right now is a mouth and a belly, and just enough flippers to crowd surf over to the milk.

(11,065 posts)It makes him look even more adorable and comical. I'm used to dogs with stand up ears that generally don't do anything... no flopping or flapping or going inside out on their own. They're a bit boring.
Doc has such a nice coat. I just want to lick him... he's like light coffee ice cream. He must love climbing all over the wood pile hunting any critters hiding in the nooks and crannies... and he's got the big old hooves to do it!
mopinko
(70,088 posts)he uses it to get you to play.
his coat is really soft still. i am sure it will coarsen up, but right now it is puppy soft. now you made me want to lick it.
he has to examine every little thing in his kingdom. even the ones that bite. he has a good idea what parrots are about, but he is fascinated by them anyway. he ducks faster now, tho.

i think he does that ear thing when he needs a little more brain power, so he warms it up with that ear.

Btw, none of us multitude of kids got our mom's fabulous red hair. We're all a bit bummed by that.

(70,088 posts)the sister with the slightly red haired husband had 2 girls with completely different gorgeous reds, and there was a nephew who had thick as a briar patch, curly, fire engine hair that we were all sure somehow affected his brain. what a little maniac.

(11,065 posts)Remember them? My dad used to love them. I was never very keen on how they tasted but they looked so delicious. Me, I was always an Eskimo Pie kinda gal (partly because they were so delightfully messy to eat).
What a cutie this one is! And he really does look like a michievous little devil!

(70,088 posts)i always liked them, but usually succumbed to the allure of chocolate as well. either an ice cream sandwich or a fudgesicle.
this particular pup is a beautiful big boy now. the markings are almost identical.
