Related: About this forumwe got ourselves a damned fine (part) meezer boy
found him on the humane society web site monday evening, went to meet him this morning and there was no question about it. he fit all the criteria we had (adult, declawed male. we thought that would be the best fit for our declawed lady) and started loving on us almost instantly, going as far as offering me his belly after about ten minutes. i was a bit concerned about getting him today since i had to turn around and go right to work, but the husband was home all day with them.
he was found as a stray, but is very obviously a house cat. he's big and sleek and has the most expressive tail i've ever seen on a cat. he's also already had more than a bit to say to us.
here he is ten minutes after we let him out of the carrier
and after i greeted him when i got home
he and the dim one have had a few conversations but there has been absolutely no aggression on either of their parts.
however, here's the face she's been making tonight
before i paid the adoption fee, i asked the woman which cat had been there the longest and it was one of the cats i longed to get but knew i couldn't, so i paid her adoption fee too.
the house feels the right amount of full again and my heart feels a little less empty.

Glad that you were able to find a new companion and also defer the costs for someone else to adopt another pet.

(11,065 posts)Looks like you found just the right furbaby to brighten your life! There's really nothing like a new furbaby to help to cure the hurt of the loss of another. That's always been my own experience anyway.
I'm so happy for you!
