we're 2.5, maybe 3 months into harvey's diet and, if anything, i think he's gained weight

we cut his wet food consumption to less than a can a day, but he's just filling it in with the dry food. can't take the dry food away because the dim one is the ultimate grazer, taking only a few bites at random intervals. he has a pooch on his belly, but he's not really flabby, he just looks like he swallowed a pineapple. he's a bit of a lazy turd, but i have recently caught the two of them playing and running around together. the only thing i can think of is trying to exercise him, but i have no idea how to go about that. he's fine with the harness but walks are out of the question because he's terrified of being outside.

can't you see he's starving to death

and my goofy little girl for good measure

Running around can help them get fit. I watch the Jackson Galaxy show- he says play is very good for them.

Oh, and squee!!!

not because he eats dogs, but because he eats like a dog...eats anything in sight and doesn't have a turn off button until there is nothing left. I always thought that I could never have a second cat, but life happened and another cat needed a home. She learned how to eat all the food that was put down in one sitting within one day. I put food down twice a day for both cats, in different rooms. When they stop eating, any leftover food is put away until the next feeding. Maybe your dim one will not be so dim as to starve to death.

5. It is the dry food.

You will just have to restrict it. Try giving more wet food and just a little dry, like maybe a a T. at each feeding as a "side". I'm struggling with one of my dry food loving cats, too. When she gets more, like when we are on vacation, she blows up like a balloon.

So the vet said to give 1/4 can wet food plus 2 T. dry food twice a day. Her weight has not budged (14 lbs, 6 oz but she's a larger breed) since we started in July. I'm going to increase the wet food a little and decrease the dry to just 1 T. twice a day.

It's the carbs, and the fact that it takes more dry to fill up a tummy than wet food.

while until he started to lose weight. Then it becomes hard to stay at that weight maintenance point.
