I know I'm Mr. Mickey's Mom, but I was also his sister's mom, too.
It's tough saying good-bye, little girl... Your Mom, Dad and brother love you forever...

(2,124 posts)She looks like my Sammy, who passed exactly two weeks ago. It's never easy to lose our kittehs, but the memories are to be treasured. I wish you much peace in the coming days and weeks.

(20,453 posts)I'm sorry for your loss of Sammy, too. Heinz 57 variety is what their mix was.
A friend found both of them on a rooftop in San Antonio when we lived there. It has stormed and flooded, and I believe their mom (never found) drug them to safety. They had to be weaned by someone else's mommy cat, then came to our (already 2 cat family- yow!) as baby kittens. They were survivors, and thus named Mickey and Malloy (named after characters in "Natural Born Killers"
Had to share that kitteh story with you.

(2,124 posts)Sammy came to me as a kitten as well. We got her from a local pet store in Guam, where we were stationed in the early 90's. I named her before we got out of the parking lot. She was much fun as a kitten and we enjoyed her charm and endless energy. Those kitten days are the best (except for the inevitable curtain climbing).

(12,253 posts)I bet her fur was silky soft, especially the white part. So sorry for your loss. I'm sure your house will never be quite the same without her.

Condolences to you and your family (furry and non-furry alike).

(32,932 posts)sometimes, knowing the rainbow bridge will be there, isn't enough. ((hugs))

(20,453 posts)You'd be surprised. I caught a picture of a rainbow and looked at it after the incident wishfully thinking...

(3,344 posts)A friend of mine once said she didn't think it fair that our fur kids lived such a short time. I believe they become part of your heart and a times losing one of them is just so painful.

People here know that and feel a small part of it right along with you.

(20,453 posts)Maybe the reason their lives are generally on a scale as a fraction of ours is so that we can FINALLY take their lead on how we treat each other.
NOTHING is better realized than unconditional LOVE is.
The "dominionist" attitude is un-evolved... compared to theirs on an evolutionary scale.
Thanks all.
