Sleeping with the golden retriever

He is nine years old and we took him to the vets Saturday. He pulled a muscle in his hip playing with our other dogs , so instead of having him go upstairs to bed. As he always sleeps with us , I deployed a floor level air mattress. And he and I slept on the living room floor last night next to the wood stove. We snuggled and cuddled all night, now this morning I am stiff from sleeping on air mattress.

You are a good pet Daddy, TEB. I hope you both are feeling better today. I'm surprised that the Boog didn't try to join y'all.

But my wife herded him to bed because of room on air mattress. So when they got up this morning I heard the thunder of paws and I had a boog nose in my ear.

He's a year and a few months old - took over what used roll be our bed in May.

I would have been stiff this morning too if the Maltese that owns my ass had pulled a muscle in his hip too.

True story: We lay down around the little monster. His house, his bed, his Alpha Wolf, his Beta Wolf . . . That's how we roll.

If you are going to be sleeping on one for a period of time, you might look
into one of the newer models. One you can let air out of to make it softer.
And put an egg crate topper on it.

Best wishes to you and the golden. They are such sweet dogs.

Or add air to make it firmer.

I slept on one recently and it was more comfortable than my mattress!

18 years ago, the last night before we had to put our golden retriever down. He could not get up on the bed, so I slept on the floor with him.
