I'm assuming you mean that your photos are stored in an iPhoto folder on your hard drive?

But, if your photos are uploaded to the internet, it should be as simple as copying and pasting the web address of a photo into your post, and surrounding it with (using [ and ] brackets instead of parenthesis) this:

(img)photourl.com(/img)

like that, again with the square brackets instead of parenthesis.

If your photos aren't already uploaded to the internet, make yourself an account on www.photobucket.com, and upload all your pictures there first. Then, from within the photobucket site, you can upload your pictures as I just explained above.

Please ask if I've managed to confuse you and you still have questions. I really hope I haven't.

All you have to do is post the direct address of the photo in your post and the picture comes up when you hit the post or reply button. No (img) or (/img) is necessary.

As an example, if I wanted to post a photo from, say, a photobucket account where it had been uploaded all I'd have to do is copy the direct address and past it in a post, like this (but without the spaces or DU will try to post a photo that doesn't exist)....

http: // photobucket/cutedog . jpg

That's it. No image tags necessary.

like photobucket or flickr. I don't have a Mac and I use flickr, but you have to use some site to post the photos.

I can try to walk you through using flickr if you need it, but my photos always have that location info posted here with the photo, and I know most people's photos don't----so I am not a pro.

On edit, I just posted a photo the only way I know how to do it so you can see how it works for me.

I was new and everybody was posting pix of their pets, but I said I didn't know how, so another generous DUer posted my pic for me, then told me what she did.

I signed up for photobucket.com and uploaded the pictures I had stored on my computer to Photobucket, then chose the "direct link" to post a pic here.

You can even edit your pix to get them to the right size. All you have to do is click on Upload, and choose your pic (or pix, just have to hold down the control key to upload more than one) from your computer. When it's done, less than a minute, usually, just view it in your Photobucket album and copy and paste the direct link.

Believe me, if I can manage this, anybody can. Good luck!

on edit: Here's my dog, from Photobucket.
