Never let 'em lick anything really greasy, chocolate or too spicey... Just about anything else is game, as long as they've eaten their doggy food.

I learned not to feed the furry monsters directly from my plate and that eliminated a lot of their antics.

my folks plus in-laws--and we were just about ready to sit down to dinner. I'd made lasagna as one entree because my husband was a vegetarian and had just set a nice crystal bowl filled with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano on the table. I called everyone to dinner, and we all were greeted by the sight of Tom & Boris, two of our cats at the time, with their heads buried in the crystal bowl scarfing down the cheese for all they were worth.

These days, my two spoiled rescues, Sammy & Otis, really couldn't care less about people food, aside from the occasional steak or chicken breast treat. They never, ever beg when I eat. It's weird to have rescues uninterested in people food. They don't particularly like kitty treats either, but they are kibble connoisseurs and do love the gushy food.

at the table, so at mealtime she would come in and just lay down under the table. She knew that with 4 kids around the table, something edible was bound to hit the floor at every meal and she was in the best spot to take advantage of the mishaps. She was so fast that food didn't even get a chance to leave a stain on the carpet.

But if you spill it all in one spot, there would be great unrest among the masses.....
