She's claimimg every possible effort was made to rescue pets, but lots of people are saying that's not true.

I love my pets, but I'd never ask first-responders to put their lives in danger to enter a building on a verge of collapse in the slim hopes they could find a frightened cat that was probably hiding.

It's tragic that they were lost, too, but from all reports I've read, there really wasn't much more they could do that wouldn't have put them at substantial risk.

Some are pointing out the obvious dangers, others are accusing the authorities of lying about their efforts to rescue pets left inside the building just demolished.

This always happens in disasters. The fires in the West have been particularly bad, for both pets and wildlife.
