Pathetic Cat Mom

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I get up super early, because I'm me, but my cats do not. They can do whatever they want all day, with no obligations. So why do I feel that I need to be quiet so they can sleep?

I decided that I'd fix my dryer (again), and went into my garage to get the proper tool. One of my wild guys was sleeping on my car (on a towel that I put there for him every night because I realized that it was his favorite place to sleep), so I apologized and quietly backed out.

They don't appreciate me at all.

1. Of course they appreciate you. If they didn't they'd wake you up in the middle of the night...

My son and his family are moving in with me in a couple of weeks for a few months. They've got two cats, who are strictly indoor cats, so I'm relocating myself and my four to the walkout finished basement. I did it a couple of years ago when another son moved in for a almost a year with his beast of a dog. My cats will have some adjusting to do, but they'll figure it out.

One of my son's family's cats is apparently quite the pain in the butt in the middle of the night, so that should be fun.

I started giving him CBD for his arthritis and the yowling stopped.

techniques learned on the web... don't entertain the yowling - don't even look at them... don't let the yowling be rewarded.. reward them when they are quiet.

If I have a cat asleep on my lap, I stay put, no matter how much I want to get to go do something else, like get a bite to eat. I just can't bring myself to disturb them.

Meanwhile, they walk over me at night without a second thought.

I used to have a 125 pound Rottie who had his own twin size bed pushed up against my side of the bed. Sometimes he'd get scared or lonely and lumber onto our bed and lay in the middle. He never, ever stepped on me.

But this tortie cat of mine..... I swear she steps on me where she knows it'll cause the most pain.
