And the cost is pretty much what I pay at the store (if it's on the shelves!)

So, if nothing starts coming in, near me, I'm going to order canned food for these guys. It's just so weird that there seems to be plenty of canned food for adult cats - just very little for kittens. Hopefully I can get a few more cans of 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' kitten food at my locally owned pet supply store. I use it to supplement the Fancy Feast I still have. And I'm giving them dry kitten food, too, which fortunately isn't hard to find.

Which is what drove me to chewy.

A bit cheaper than stores near me, but my kitty will only eat 1 flavor of this low cal food.

When she doesn't get her can a day fix, she goes through house opening & slamming cabinets, etc., etc.

So now she has a good supply on auto ship! Which, of course, goes a long way toward ensuring restful sleep & sanity.

Then I used for dog's heartworm preventative & saved about $20.

Even dry kitten food near me really doesn't exist.

But he does it to explore what is inside.

Sometimes he just sits there.

So the cabinets where cleaners and like are there I tie it shut.

He bangs the open toilet lid against the tank if he wants me to do something for him.
He really can make a racket that way.

They sure can be obnoxious sometimes, especially when this type of activity is going on in the wee hours.

If all else fails, my girl will give me the sweep of whiskers on my cheek to wake me.

18. I don't even have cats any more

and when I need just about anything I check chewy first., They havemany things one could certainly use with a pet but that I use without one. Bottle brushes, rug rakes, and white noise generators are just a few examples/.

A friend of a friend had an automatic order with them for an animal who died. They forgot to cancel it, and when it came that called to find out how to send it back, and Chewy said, no, no, give it to a local shelter, and credited the price back to them. AND THEN SENT FLOWERS. It was the flowers that got me. I know merchants who would do the keep-it-we'll-credit-you - but not send flowers.

I would so much rather they get my money than Jeff Bezos.

26. Thanks for the Chewy rec! I haven't been able to find my cats' favorite canned food here.

But I was able to sign up for a weekly delivery via Chewy.

I was almost in a panic when we couldn't find it in grocery stores, Target, or the local pet supply stores yesterday.

I'd posted in the Pets group asking where to find my kitty's canned food as it does not exist anywhere near me.

I felt "lucky" to find 4 cans several weeks ago, but my cat eats (i.e. demands) 1 can per day.

Other members were kind enough to reply with the Chewy rec.

I buy on autoship in larger quantities to ensure stock, avoid shipping costs, & to help the environment.

I've only gotten the initial order thus far, but delivery was a day ahead of schedule!

13. I showed Ember this pic.

After staring intently at it, she sniffed the phone to check them out further, then looked behind the phone like she does with animals on the TV screen.

Madoc's coloring is very different from Ember's, but his face shape, ears, and facial expression look like hers did at that age. Griff's eyes look Siamese, but his face is fuller and he doesn't have the big Siamese ears. Both are very handsome guys.

14. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with Gryff's fur.

His head is jet black and the fur is very silky, like Madoc's, but the fur on the rest of the fur is kind of short, not nearly so smooth and while predominantly black, there's also a lot of lighter striping. Who knows what his nutrition was like, before he was left at the vet's office. I'm watching to see if the black fills in and gets silkier, or if he just has a unique fur.

All that aside, he's a very STURDY little cat.

16. Genetically, solid cats have stripe

genes that are not expressed. There are degrees of stripe suppression. A lot of "solid" colored cats have a faint hint of stripes. So it might be just his genes.

I don't know what would make the texture and length different, though. Maybe after enough time on a nutritious diet and being well cared for will even out the coat length and texture.

The solid black cat that I named Merlin had some Angora in his background. His tail and neck had long, silky hair, but the hair on his back and sides was shorter and not as silky. I figured that the mane and tail were inherited from his Angora ancestor but the rest of his fur was just ordinary moggie fur. You could ask the vet about it when Gryff goes in for neutering.

27. I had a funny engagement with an older couple. (my age)

I have a Corgi and he is a good looking dog that loves everybody and just wants attention. I take him to Lowes when I go. He has to go in the shopping cart cause he squirts on everything, which he does when we are in the woods. So he stands with his front paws on the edge of the cart trying to get people to pet him. His stump is going top speed.
I was walking out and the the wife says "Oh what a little cutie." I give it a couple of seconds and say "Yer talking about me right." Immediately the husband says "NO." Then the woman smiles and says "yes." I figured it was time to walk on.
I am thinking it is a good thing when you are in your 60s and your husband is still in love with you and will easily and quickly stand for you. I hope she gave him a little peck when the got in the car.

They were wonderful to understand that you needed this kitten and this kitten needed you. This would tell them how perfectly it's worked out.
