Related: About this forumMadoc is such a goof
I went to take a drink of ice water and thought - that's some weird looking ice. Turns out Madoc dropped one of his wadded up paper balls he chases, right into the glass! Now, normally he just brings them to me and drops them by my feet, so that I'll toss it for him to chase. Apparently I wasn't paying close enough attention to his needs.
I can't turn my back on him for even an instant!

(21,346 posts)like Ember was as a kitten. Same face structure and ears, too, although the coloring and markings are very different. I'm guessing that somewhere in Madoc's background there was once a breed that likes to retrieve. Any cat can enjoy doing that, but some breeds are known for loving to retrieve, e.g. Abyssinian, Egyptian Mau, Ocicat.
When Ember was a kitten, she tried to get my attention to play with her ball that is attached to an elastic cord. I swing it around so she can swat it and "catch" it. But that day, I was in a hurry to address an envelope and get it to the post office so I ignored her. When I got home, the ball was sitting in the middle of the table where I'd been working on the envelope, so I could not miss it.
They have their ways of letting us know what they want.
(Watch out for objects dropped in your shoes and boots, too.)
