Hero dog saves Katy woman missing for days in George Bush Park

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Sherry Noppe, the woman missing since Tuesday along with her dog, was found alive by searchers early Friday morning in George Bush Park, according to Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap.

Noppe was found at 3 a.m. by a group of volunteers who were alerted by the sound of her dog, Max, barking in the woods, Heap said.

Noppe was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy to be evaluated. Officials said she was a little shaken up and had cuts and bruises but should make a speedy recovery.

"She's doing surprisingly well for how long she's been out there and the conditions that we were expecting," daughter Courtney said. "The heat. The rain. We're very grateful."

Noppe is still being checked out, but is expected to make a full recovery and may be released Friday night. She has some cuts and bruises and was pretty shaken when they found her.

A friend of the family is calling it a miracle and said Max the dog is a hero for helping signal searchers with his barking.

And the few who have been seriously misbred do these things.

I've only met a few dogs in my long lifetime whom I've disliked & mistrusted. They're usually of certain breeds. I've not liked or trusted their owners either.

My last baby girl was tall, weighted 120lbs, & was the sweetest "person."

Sorry, I'll pass on your link.

Do you also dislike people? Because they've done more damage to other humans than any dogs. Ukraine is the latest example.

Edit to add: There are far more humans who have hurt dogs than vice versa.

Don't understand why anyone with his sentiments would be reading the PET forum, much less be posting here.

Come in the Pets group and make a post maligning dogs? Really?

Surely you can find more productive ways to use your time.

Dogs are the best. They've definitely saved my life in the past, just by being dogs.

And on the hijacked side--there's a number of reasons a dog may bite a person, and its usually the person's fault.
