Robber killed in Waffle House shooting

http://www.aikenstandard.com/story/m1053-BC-SC-WaffleHouseShooti-01-21-0327

Lt. Tony Ivey said two men entered the restaurant early Saturday morning and at least one was carrying a handgun. A customer with a concealed weapons permit drew his gun, and fired when one of the suspects pointed the weapon at him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Turn 19 one day, taking a dirt nap the next...robbery isn't as profitable as it used to be.
Is it time we start giving these citizens rewards for helping make society a better place?
Service was great, food was good. I was carrying but no one came in to rob the place so my gun stayed safe and warm in my concealed carry fanny pack.
we have a better chance of eventually eliminating the armed criminals.
But I'm sure that's not the reply you were fishing for.
We have more legal guns 'protecting' us than any other country and yet we have more violent crime and deaths from illegal guns than any country.
So much for that theory.
It's almost impossible to determine how big the effect is on those crime rates, but my bet is it's a contributaory factor. Theory still valid.
....and a little thing called the war on terrorism of which guns play a major role.
But heh, the fact remains more legal guns only means we still have the highest use of illegal guns for violent crimes.
Gang shootings are down because of improved community policing in places like LA.
Folks in Brazil will be glad to hear that. Actually, our murder rate is not that high world wide. All of the countries that have higher ones also have much stricter gun laws. Jamaica's UK style gun laws did not stop theirs from doubling.
While Russia has few gun deaths, their murder rate is three times ours and their suicide rate is even higher.
And Jamaica and Russia and how about those suicides in Japan and don't forget the Swiss. None of them have anything to do with this country, it's culture, type of government or legal system, except of course, the UK, but we don't want to go there do we. All those knives and feet and head butting. Bravo USA.
and it is culture and history. The UK does have a problem with easily accessable automatic weapons (more so than here) Has the murder rate (or even the misuse of guns) in the UK dropped since their first strict gun laws?
Wrong, I would demonstrate the folly of bringing a knife to a gunfight.
You can be killed by all sorts of things, like knives, and robbers use all sorts of things, like knives.
So even if EVERY bad guy in the nation had no firearms at all, I would still carry.
...it was most likely sold to a trafficker by a crooked FFL, or acquired by a straw purchaser. Those are the two major conduits for guns "diverted" into the criminal circuit.
Either is already a felony violation of federal law.
