Man shot at Terrytown intersection after argument with another driver (LA)

http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2013/01/man_shot_at_terrytown_intersec.html

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man for shooting another man Friday shortly after noon in Terrytown. Earl Alleman Jr., 32, of Gretna flagged down JPSO officers Sean Williams and Ryan Singleton and told them a man in a gray pickup truck had shot him near the intersection of Terry Parkway and Carol Sue Avenue.

<snip>.

According to JPSO spokesman Col. John N. Fortunato, Alleman told investigators that Mitchell pulled up behind his gray Pontiac Grand Am on Terry Parkway and began honking and pointing at him.

Alleman said he pulled into a nearby gas station, where he got into an argument with Mitchell. The suspect then followed Alleman until they reached Terry Parkway and Carol Sue Avenue, where he got out of his vehicle and shot at Alleman, Fortunato said.

Deputies said they found what they believe to be the handgun used in the shooting inside Mitchell's truck. Mitchell allegedly later told investigators he shot the victim because he was angry over a traffic incident in which Alleman was involved.

When every moran can get a gun, all morans will have a gun - and use it.

That is the Westbank, across the river from New Orleans. It's not all that uncommon, as I remember at least one person murdered while driving on DeGaulle Avenue at an intersection. There were many shootings in the local neighborhoods while I worked in the area. It's legal to carry a gun in your car in LA, also, as it is considered an extension of "the Castle Doctrine", I think.

People with that kind of temper start getting into trouble with the police early. Likely it was already illegal for him to have a gun.

Unfortunately, we will likely never see a follow-up story in the paper.
