Fear and loathing in...

...just about everywhere.

* Some pro-RKBA types take issue with the pro-control agenda which they say is based on fear.

What is it about the fear argument that's universally attractive?

and emotions are not necessarily "rational" thoughts

Therefore, it is a quick way to dismiss the other sides arguements by making them out to be "irrational".

...accusing the other side of emotion based reasoning is just taking advantage of that emotion and is essentially rather dishonest?

Obama is going to take away our rights and guns. Works both ways, don't you think? Just look at the hoarding of ammo, guns, AK-47's, etc., and not say there isn't fear there too.

...in my statement that it is apparent to me that some on both sides of the issue are guilty of using the fear implication to dismiss the arguments of the opposite side.

I never said that isn't actual fear among some and that's on both sides.

Cuomo's rush to fame has damaged the idea of having a discussion on the issue. One has to read and digest the entire piece of legislation to appreciate what an inept piece of legislation it is.

It is an attempt to be insulting. Or to make others feel foolish for being scared of...whatever.

Personally i think a little fear is a good thing...keeps us from doing all kinds of stupid shit, and to take plenty of wise precautions.

I'm busted. The NRA rhetoric is all I have. Oh the shame!

I must remember to always have a pocketful of dirt so that, on encountering a rights-robbing, anti-gun superior being, I can fall at his feet and grovel.
