Gun Geo Marker iphone/Android app has been disabled.
A few weeks ago an anti-gun person had a really stupid idea. He originated an iphone/Android app that allowed a person to anonymously designated any address as a place where there was a dangerous gun owner. Although the app claimed that it was to be used only to designate truly dangerous individuals who owned guns, there were no controls of any kind on the process. As a lark, I downloaded the app and occasionally checked it to see if any address were so labeled. The app only checked close to the GPS location of the iphone at the time it was accessed. You couldn't check other places. No addresses ever showed up as checked that I could see. Recently, the app failed to work.
I discovered that the author of the app had disabled it. Instead the app now lists samples of the hostile messages he has received. Naturally, he has selected the most venomous of the messages to display.
It seems that he received multiple threats of lawsuits from people who were falsely labeled as being dangerous to have a gun.
