12. It is on those county officials to do their jobs

that isn't a national problem. Just because some Michigan county does things half assed and New York has no standards at all isn't a reflection on the other states.

7. So we now have

Sep 2013

twelve threads on this LBN(3), GD(6), GCRA(1), GC&RKBA(1), Video and Multimedia(1)- I think that is more than the SNAP vote

Chicago shooting wounds 13- 5, including one self-identified dupe in LBN and one pointing out the lack of attention of DU it has received

Police officer killed during domestic in Indianapolis- 1

Does anyone else find this distribution strange?

'Heh heh, gunnerz R stoopid!' sort of appeal. It's generally OK to cackle about death when the right people are dead in the right way, I suppose.

But more generally, you'll go mad trying to understand the distribution of topics on DU (or any other board). Topics that should be hugely important won't make a ripple, while trivial nonsense will run into the 100s. (Confession - three of my posts today are giggling over chemtrails.) One post will sink like a stone, while a nearly-identical post a few hours later will blow up into a hurricane. There might be a dissertation topic here, but it's beyond me...

9. There are three categories of death
Fri Sep 20, 2013, 04:10 PM
Sep 2013

An innocent person- that is a tragedy
A criminal- executed by a person who has been itching to murder someone
A armed citizen- that's pretty funny, but he had it coming and his family should be grateful

I am glad not all believe this matrix, though it seems far too many do, and I hope those who generally remain silent believe every death is a tragedy.

OTH I had a poster tell me he would he cheers when police are killed and would advocate violence against them but he knows it would get him banned.
