A curiosity question

Recently there have been several posts discussing gun regulation and open verse concealed carry in both the control forum and this one. I have noticed occasionally someone will state point blank they want all guns banned. I realize that opinion without a doubt exists. So here are my questions for those who have this opinion.

How would you get it?
How exactly would it work?
Will it make a difference?
What about possible consequences?

1. They can get such legislation through both houses of Congress
2. The courts will uphold the legislation
3. People will comply
4. States will comply
5. Law enforcement, as a whole, will comply

As a whole, recent legislation is loosening restrictions and allowing CCW in formerly restrictive states, see Illinois as an example. Recent court decisions have also struck down restrictive laws in places such as Chicago.

I'm sure the anti-gun crowd will be along shortly with their talking points.
