Many others just decided to leave the Democratic Party and vote for pro-gun Republicans instead.

Over the years our support for strong gun control laws, especially gun "bans", has hurt our party dearly in close elections. That why you won't see another major push this year for an assault weapons ban. The people who run our party realize that to do so just before a midterm election is political suicide.

First, the Gallup poll.

Then the Economist-YouGov poll.

And the Ohio & Connecticut spike in new registrants over the last year.

Now, the reports of increases in range attendance.

They can't all be "right wing, white male tea-party types;" they are pretty much accounted for. Time to look closer to home.
