Surprise, Surprise: The NRA Deletes Ridiculous Guns-for-the-Blind Video

Without any fanfare or explanation, the National Rifle Association (America's gun manufacturer's lobbyist for the gun humpers) removed from YouTube a video in which commentator Dom Raso makes a case for allowing blind people to carry firearms in public.

The video, posted earlier this week, was another in a long series of questionable pro-gun arguments ranging from attacks on the use of word “gunman” and the phrase “mass shootings”; to arguments in support of government subsidies for free ammunition and gun classes in grade school; to this most recent video.

surroundings.”

The New York Daily News reported:

Steven Rothstein, the former head of the prominent school Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Ma., called the video an effort to exploit the disabled.

“This video is not only disturbing but also misleading and they are using individuals who are visually impaired in a cynical attempt to further their extremist position on gun control,” Rothstein said, according to the Boston Globe.

To repeat: this isn’t a video from The Onion, even though it absolutely could be.

...sees the phrases like "gun humper" or "gun fetishist" or "gun nut" and reflexively asks whether or not it includes all gun owners, under the assumption that it does.

It's a way for gun nuts to artificially inflate their own numbers by attempting to classify all gun owners as being within their group.

And I don't refer to NRA stuff in particular, I refer to those valid points that are inevitably included among them.

Had you been a black woman in the sixties, you didn't need to take civil rights for all races seriously, there were others here like MLK and the Freedom Rider looking after your interests.

Again, I'm not a member of the NRA, but I'm a solid supporter of the RKBA as an individual and as a collective right.

You bet your ass that it's a real civil right.

Are you trying to egg me on to make a reply that will be hidden?

If so, it won't work.

You are entitled to be offended by the comparison, as much as I am to be offended that you don't care to accept that progressives can differ on the matter of the Second Amendment.

A civil right.
