Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumDebunking the myth of gun confiscation.
Nobody wants to take your guns -- they want you shot on sight.
Maybe if a few of these jackasses get taken down maybe some of the others stop being such assholes.
Gun owners in general are cowards, one or two times should be enough to have them cowering under their bed.
I say shoot them on sight , just to be safe. No sane person would carry a rifle around a grocery store. Only the insane and the criminally motivated. So, again, I say shoot them on sight, let their bodies rot in the streets as a message to other hell-bent gunners.
Nothing but good could come of this.
That gun can be readied and fired in only seconds. Best to just shoot them.
So stop being so paranoid!

(1,941 posts)Can you appreciate the concerns of people with regards to the open carry demonstrations? I think they're making a terroristic threat and it is incompatible with sane and responsible ownership.
A gun should only be used as a tool and a dangerous one at that. It should not be a toy or a prop or a surrogate for a tiny, tiny penis.

(1,941 posts)Hawkins entered the south entrance of the Von Maur department store about 1:36 p.m. CST (19:36 UTC). After walking a short distance into the store, he paused for a second, then turned around and left. Returning six minutes later through the same entrance, he proceeded directly to the elevator at his immediate right, this time with a Century WASR-10 (a commercial copy of the AKM (7.62x39mm) semi-automatic rifle)[1][9] stolen from his stepfather's house, along with two 30-round magazines taped together,[10] concealed in a sweatshirt. He took the elevator to the top floor.[11]
I see someone carrying a gun into a public space, what am I supposed to think? Am I supposed to go up and ask if he's about to conduct a massacre, get shot if the answer is yes?

Or something to that effect. Result- one man dead for holding a bb gun.
That "Cops will shoot you for not even doing anything if you're black." is another separate concern; you even note this happens regardless of whether or not a black man has a gun.
People here are calling for, and not for the first time, summary execution of people exercising a distasteful yet legal activity. Anyone who promotes such action, or says call the cops and let the chips fall has no business complaining when a man or child dies as a result.
I do not find it acceptable that it has happened to black people nor do I find it acceptable when it happens to a white person.

(12,194 posts)No Charges in Ohio Police Killing of John Crawford as Wal-Mart Video Contradicts 911 Caller Account
An Ohio grand jury has declined to indict the white police officer who fatally shot John Crawford. A 22-year-old African American, Crawford was killed inside a Wal-Mart store last month after a caller phoned police to accuse him of brandishing a gun and pointing it at other customers. In fact, Crawford had picked up an unloaded BB air rifle on a shelf, an item that is sold in the store. Newly released surveillance footage shows major discrepancies between a 911 callers account, and what really happened. The Justice Department now says it will launch a federal review to determine if Crawfords civil rights were violated. We are joined by two guests: Rashad Robinson, executive director of Color of Change, a national organization that has campaigned for Wal-Mart to release the surveillance tapes, and James Hayes, founding member of the Ohio Student Association, which has been organizing protests over the shooting.

Strange, that anti-gun folks would openly advocate for just that, but there it is.
sarisataka
(18,577 posts)the disconnect. A person calls 911, as they advocate; perhaps a little 'exaggeration' to make sure the police come out.
Then when the police shoot the person it is the cops fault for not knowing the gun wasn't real.
Implications of course is that if it were a real gin it would be a justified shooting, even if such carry is not illegal.

and not yet one categorical rejection of the suggestion to summarily execute gun owners from the gun control side.
I had hoped previous suggestions over the last year to use drones on gun owners and carriers should be dealt with "extreme prejudice" were simply hyperbole.
Those suggestions were never rejected either.
What should be the take away from this besides the obvious? Perhaps those of us who own guns should live in fear.
Nuclear Unicorn
(19,497 posts)mass shooting with semi-auto longs is a sub-sub-set. How many things in this world kill less than-less than 400 people annually?
Yet, they tell us they have a moral duty to wage full scale civil to take away all guns to "save lives." And when they aren't haranguing those who are defending the basic civil right of self defense they are back in GD howling about law enforcement becoming increasingly militarized and deadly, especially against unarmed civilians. The depth of their rank hypocrisy would be comical if the cost were not so tragic.
DonP
(6,185 posts)There were several posts in GD over the past few weeks on how many people in and around Ferguson were buying guns.
The threads then devolved into the typical redneck baiting we usually see, including the requisite posting of the "family album" shots of Dad and fat old uncle Jed standing in the woods in camo etc.
The one consistent part of all those hand wringing threads was the tacit assumption that the guns were all being sold to only white residents.
Not one person even considered the fact that there were more than a few African American families and store owners that might have good reason to want their own gun.
Without access to the 4473's they all filled out, we'll never know, but it is telling that the assumption for some narrow minded gun grabber types immediately jumps to the redneck stereotype.
