Hoosiers to join others on Capitol Hill this week in calling for universal background check for guns

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 7, 2015) – As lawmakers return to Washington this week, they’ll be greeted by a group of Hoosiers demanding new gun laws.

After a violent summer, organizers are calling Thursday’s rally on Capitol Hill a day of action.

Moms Demand Action is helping organize the event, a group that originated in Zionsville after the Sandy Hook Shooting.

“I think it has to be very difficult for an elected official to look a family in the eye and say the gun lobby means more than your loved one does,” Stephanie Mannon Grabow said, the Indiana chapter leader of Moms Demand Action.

They will probably start babbling some Second Amendment mumbo jumbo right in your face.

Without larding it up with every other gun control related law that crosses their mind; AWB, Magazine limits et. al.

Their past track record is, they each want to have their own flavor of gun control included and after trying for everything, they get nothing time after time.

If they do, it's DoA all over again.

The NRA/SAF will claim another "victory" without ever lifting a finger or spending a dime.

All because they add so much crap, that even middle of the road legislators want nothing to do with a career killer bill.

We've seen this play before and know how it ends.

Letting someone else fire my gun at a range ins't considered a change of ownership. Still if one was serious about UBC one would hope they wouldn't put in poison pills like that.

it would not be legal to loan a friend a rifle even if you are both in the same deer camp.

This rubbish won't even get a committee vote even if a bill materializes. UBCs without national "may issue" reciprocity and an overhaul of NICS and 4473 record keeping requirements is a non starter politically.

Even if we had a Democrat controlled Senate, UBCs wouldn't pass at this point. Remember 2013? How did the voters react? We lost the Senate even after the Republican cry baby fit of 2013. I'm not saying gun rights were a huge factor, but it obviously didn't help.

Remember what happened in March 2015 when BATFE tried to reclassify XM855? I do.

This is just another publicity stunt by MDA.
