Shell shock: Ammo shortage bites industry

https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/growing-idaho/shell-ammo-shortage-bites-industry-guns-firearms/277-88a06712-3c39-4f90-ac33-8b8aaf46b591

While last year’s toilet paper panic during the grip of the pandemic was disturbing, at least it was brief. Meanwhile, a nationwide ammunition shortage continues to impact shooting facilities, hunting trips and even law enforcement agencies – with no end in sight.

Shooting industry insiders say a combination of fear stemming from social unrest, COVID-related manufacturing restrictions and political shifts had contributed to the ammunition shelves in sporting goods stores being mostly bare.

Dedicated shooters appear to be perpetuating the problem as they snap up and hoard nearly any handgun, rifle and shotgun ammo that becomes available.

Sharp Shooting Indoor Range & Gun Shop in Spokane started feeling the impacts about 16 months ago, said Jeremy Ball, co-owner.

drive-bys, home invasions, etc.. or "at the ready" at homes where kids barely old enough for show & tell and situations where teens, adults and LE can't handle strong emotions or relationships manage to find 'em unlocked and loaded.

Anyone who didn’t stockpile their hoards of ammo, while they had a chance at good prices on everything during TFG’s time, isn’t one to think ahead. I know gunners that have stockpiles going back to before President Obama was elected. Either these are new owners or some of the gunners didn’t consider what would happen to prices, if TFG didn’t get re-elected.

Now start pumping those damn PS5s back into the economy, because while I have the extra money to buy one at inflated prices, I am not going to do that. Those bastards are why we have a PS5 shortage.

There were a few boxes available, so I bought two of them. 325 rounds for about $19 each. I was there looking for an orange safety vest, but hey, gotta grab the opportunity when it appears.
