Hollywood anti-gun activist mad over movie poster featuring 'white male kid' with toy guns

https://cbs12.com/news/entertainment/hollywood-anti-gun-activist-mad-over-movie-poster-featuring-white-male-kid-with-toy-guns

WASHINGTON (TND) — Former actress Mia Farrow called out Disney over posters of its “Home Alone” reboot featuring a “white, male kid” holding two toy guns.

“In the age of mass shootings in schools-why two huge guns?” she tweeted on Wednesday alongside an image of the poster. “WHY???”

Farrow said “surely” Disney could have found “a more positive image” than “a white, male kid carrying 2 huge guns,” in a second follow-up tweet about the poster. “Really @Disney?” she added.

Farrow is more than just a former actress — she’s also a progressive activist with strong opinions about restricting Americans’ access to firearms, which she has shared on Twitter.

would look better. Perhaps making a HA movie with a POC as the main character. Disney made the movie with the kid pictured, so I fault them for the "white kid" part. Those movies do have a violent twist to them, so picturing toy guns probably seemed like a good idea. In the 1st one, he had a BB gun, and actually "shot" one of the guys with it. I dunno. It's Hollyweird.

Farrow doesn't like toy guns but is apparently okay with depictions of hanging, impalement, immolation and various other forms of violence.

Wanting to ban certain guns. Those exact guns were in the hands of those guarding the building, as shown in various video and pictures of it all that evening.

No thanks. Not interested. Even Steven sounds better than giving all the firepower to one group of people.

“What you say? You would like gun owners to hand over their semi-automatic firearms to you and have them stick to an ol fashion double barrel so as to be at your mercy? That sounds fantastic!”
