FLORIDA: Governor Scott Signs Three Pro-Gun Bills into Law

http://www.nraila.org/legislation/state-legislation/2012/05/florida-governor-scott-signs-three-pro-gun-bills-into-law.aspx

House Bill 313 would limit the liability of landowners who contract with the state to allow their private land to be used by the public for hunting, fishing and other recreational purposes. HB 313 unanimously passed in both the state Senate and House and was signed into law by Governor Scott on May 4. This law will take effect July 1, 2012.

House Bill 463 would provide that otherwise qualified members and veterans of U.S. Armed Forces be issued a concealed weapon or firearm license regardless of age or U.S. residency in certain circumstances. This bill also contains language to prohibit the reckless discharge of firearms in neighborhoods. HB 463 unanimously passed in both state Senate and House and was signed into law by Governor Scott on April 13. This bill took effect immediately.

House Bill 5601 would reduce the fee for a new concealed carry weapons license application from $85 to $70 for a seven-year license and would reduce the fee for a renewal of a concealed carry weapons license from $70 to $60 for a seven-year license. HB 5601 passed in the state Senate by a 31 to 6 vote and passed in the state House by a 98 to 15 vote. This bill was signed into law by Governor Rick Scott on April 20. This bill will take effect July 1, 2012.

it won't be enough to save him. IIRC, he won a small plurality of a three way race. That was before he started pissing people off. If the Dem challenger runs a half way decent campaign, he is out.

they are minor queaks of carry regulations. If he signed a bill repealing Florida's (pointless) three day waiting period, you would have something to bitch about.
I would think you would agree with me on this one:
This bill also contains language to prohibit the reckless discharge of firearms in neighborhoods. New Years/4th July shots in the air kill people. Warning shots in the air can also kill innocent people.

Every time any pro-gun law is enacted I make a simple news post about it here. I keep track of them and at the end of the year plan to make a summary post of how many new pro-gun state laws were passed. My point is that there is a wave of pro-gun legislation sweeping the country.

Or perhaps you would prefer not to know about any new pro-gun laws.

Yes, being enacted by the same fascists that are giving us a wave of anti-union, anti-school, anti-working people, anti-gay legislation. None of it is good for america or americans.

voting down gay marriage because civil rights for gays offend their religious values. Parties are imperfect, and shouldn't be treated as monolithic or perfect or whatever the opposite of perfect is in any case.

The Democratic Party needs to get on board and take the issue away from the Republicans. Law-abiding citizens should have access to the tools needed to defend themselves against violent crime.
