Why is it okay to use a firearm in your home but not beyond?

The vast majority of people -- who find guns in public unnecessary and detrimental -- would rather you keep your gun perversions at home. Sorry, but you asked.

Certainly being the"vast majority of people" they could have blocked the laws from being passed.

(5,417 posts)I don't carry a gun, personally, I don't feel the need to, but I have no problem with those who do. There are many people who are still alive today because they were robbed, or attacked and they had a way to defend themselves.
Why does somebody who carries a gun (even occasionally) have to be paranoid? To a lot of people there carrying a gun is no dfferent than carrying a cell phone. If you need it, its nice to have.
I carry a spare tire in my car, I have a fire extinguisher in my home and I have auto insurance. Would you say I'm paranoid about flat tires, fires and auto accidents?

Either way it's a chance I don't have to take. As for me and my family we believe in safety first, victims later.

violent crimes occur in places other than in or near the home.
The irrational mind is the one that believes citizens have the right to self-defense in some places but not others.
