...that Ms. McKinley and her son had to go through that. Hopefully the psychological effects will be minimal and short lived.

... why do so many people take exactly that risk by turning to home invasion/robbery/etc?

For some reason, they must feel that the property they're attempting to steal IS worth their lives. Not a choice I'd ever make, but to each his own.

At any rate, I'm glad the child had the means to defend herself. (And she IS a child, or at least she would have been counted as one by the bradys if she had been the one shot.)

Husband died one week earlier. This scumbag used that as a targeting device.

I guess someone or 2 will find fault in this.

...is 11.1 sq miles and as of 2010 had 13 police officers. If she wasn't inside the town, 21 minutes would be optimistic.

He broke in 21 minutes after she called for Law Enforcement help which had not arrived.

She could not have done it without a gun.

Common sense and a gun came through again.

Its so sad, her husband died on Christmas day then a week later a couple of scumbags show up intent on breaking in and doing gawd knows what
