Ug- every time I turn around there is another anti-airsoft bill

http://www.airsoft2day.com/news/655-bill-s810-clarifies-that-airsoft-guns-are-firearms.html

For those of you who don't know- I used to be an incredibly avid airsoft player (because of lots of circumstances I have been out of the sport for a few years but would love to get back into it), the sport: similar to paintball, is laden with honesty and teamwork as well as strategy, patience, and excercize.

They consider the Second Amendment to be worthless paper.

All I can recommend is to vote the swine out of office.

Criminal Use of Fake Guns Put Police on Alert
Fake guns are commonly used in home invasions and robberies. But from a police perspective there may not be much difference between an imitation gun and the real thing.

There are a couple of news reports at link

http://www.wsaw.com/home/headlines/Criminal_Use_of_Fake_Guns_Put_Police_on_Alert_137323473.html?storySection=comments

One of these days hopefully we will start blaming the criminal instead of the gun.

“Gun control defined: The theory that people who are willing to ignore laws against rape, torture, kidnapping, theft, and murder will obey a law which prohibits them from owning a firearm.”

The operative word is "criminal".

The intent is to present to the victim(s) a clear threat to their life and safety.

The appropriate response to such a threat has been discussed many times.

Case closed.

Are typically the very same ones that want to ban real guns....

They are the ones that have gotten tired of "trying" to ban guns, with no success so they pick an easier target... airsoft enthusiasts...

So they can get their prohibition jollies elsewhere, like Bloomberg recently went after alcohol in NYC...

In the short term, you'll have to make alliances with anyone opposed to stupid "firearms" laws.

In the long term, you'll have to support pro-RKBA Democrats to keep the stupid from proposing asinine laws.

"It shall not include any air gun or pistol which uses air, compressed air or carbon dioxide as the propelling force to eject a ball or non-pointed pellet that does not exceed .177 caliber at a muzzle velocity of less than 500 feet per second, commonly referred to as a BB gun. [4]"

The proposed law categorizes airsoft pieces with BB guns, which you have to jump through hoops to own, then says BB guns are exempted.

Probably introduced by different lawmakers, influenced by different groups or lobbyists.

So if both laws pass, then airsoft guns will be firearms, and BB guns will not be firearms. Strange.

If the kid thugging-out in Jacksonville had lived, he would have been charged for violating that law, too.
