Officials say that one of the suspects tried to kick in the back door of the residence in the 1300 block of Farrow Ridge Court.

"When the door failed to open, the suspect went around to the front door. The victim was home in the bed and woke up to the kicking on the back door. The victim grabbed a hand gun as the suspect kicked in the front door. The victim shot at the suspect as he came into the home," deputies said in a press release.

“We are not calling this a home invasion because we believe the three suspects were not expecting anyone to be home at the time”

I assume they took the word of the attackers "We were just riding along and all the lights were off. Really officer we meant no harm except to take some stuff, and this hatful toter baser shot our innocent asses."

I know if I didn't have better SD firearms, I'd be upgrading quick before they come back to finish what they started.

I was wondering was it in SC. I live about 35 miles from Darlington/Darlington County. I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this on my local news. Thanks for sharing.
