VVMF to Welcome President Obama to The Wall

The White House announced today that President Barack Obama will be the keynote speaker at the Memorial Day ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on May 28th.

Memorial Day events across the nation honor the fallen of all the nation’s conflicts, but this year the Obama Administration will join with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF), the National Park Service, and the Department of Defense to pay special homage to those of the Vietnam War, as the DoD officially launches its commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the war.

Clinton avoided going. I think Gore would have received a better reception.
Obama was too young.

You're right, Obama was too young. My dad was a Vietnam Vet, who is now dead because of complications due to Agent Orange. My mom keeps up with all the veteran groups on FB and when it was announced, a few vets, specifically Vietnam Vets, had some choice words toward Obama and felt there should be a protest - why, I do not know. So, the hate is still there.
