President Barack Obama is the smartest President!

I really do believe that President Barack H. Obama is the smartest president this country has had in years. I haven't agreed with all of his decisions. Sometimes I don't share his perspective, but I think we should count ourselves quite fortunate that he has been our president for the last 3 years.

I was a fan of Clinton, but goodness knows he couldn't even manage to keep his own pants up. I think this President is finally one that we can be proud of. To my mind, it should really be a good feeling to know that we can send him back for four more years. I think we should feel enthusiastic about it.

I think his 2nd term will offer even more advantages. He will not have to worry about re-election, etc. To a certain degree, he will be thinking about his legacy. I mean...when you think about it. I'm not really a fan of the healthcare bill...BUT, heck, Clinton couldn't even get one passed. It took President Obama to get it done.

As for the Occupy Movement, I think if you support this movement, you should also support this president. It's been his battle cry for quite some time now about the 1% getting everything and the 99% getting little to nothing.

President Clinton gave us Don't Ask, Don't Tell ... President Obama got rid of it.

George Bush looked for Osama for years...and couldn't find him down the street from a military complex in Pakistan. It took President Obama and the Navy Seals to finally get him.

To my mind, we should be more than happy to vote for him, than we were when he was first elected, because then he was talking about hope and change and what he could "possibly" do. Now, he's actually done some of it.

Sometimes DU seems so depressed about having President Obama as our candidate, I have to wonder if we're living in two different worlds. As I have said, I can be critical...and I often am when I disagree with something the President has done or appointed, etc. But, I'm not crazy. We have a good President!

The next 4 years are going to be better for us if we can keep him.

Go Obama 2012!

He's hella smart, even if not perfect......
as though anyone is!

The history books will laud him, because at the end of the day,
the man has been graceful and classy and resourceful,
considering the lies and exaggerations told of any and all of his actions,
that goes beyond simple constructive criticism!

It is unfortunate that there are some at DU who live to post hoping for this man's defeat....
in as much as the Republicans.

Criticism is one thing, but criticism and nothing but...
Well, that is quite another, in terms of a possible agenda
that doesn't favor the majority of us!

I believe the history books will speak favorably. He has done a lot in a short period of time, in spite of a problematic congress. We should continue to push him as we push all presidents. But, he has been a good president.

As for the Occupy Movement, I think if you support this movement, you should also support this president.

It's funny. Most of the president's supporters think like this. This statement makes ABSOLUTE sense to me and I see it as the truth. But for reasons known only to them, the president's incessant detractors are trying to make Occupy some sort of commentary on the president and of course, the commentary is negative. I think some of these folks could turn the sun shining into some sort of negative comment on the president, though. The lengths they go to deny and minimize the man's accomplishments would make Baghdad Bob smile.

President Clinton gave us Don't Ask, Don't Tell ... President Obama got rid of it.

Just like with Occupy, there is a small but extraordinarily loud group of folks trying their hardest to pretend the president had NOTHING to do with the end of DADT.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with the NYT on this:

'Obama Ends ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Policy'

Rec'd! Go Obama 2012!

and if not, it's going to be Hell on Earth like no other time if one of those repug fucks gets it.

why some small people don't see that clearly is quite perplexing.

I agree with the opinion that B Obama is intelligent, I don't believe we've ever had a stupid one. I could come up with lots of descriptives for our Presidents, past and present, dumb ain't one of 'em.

I disagree with the notion that if BO isn't re-elected, that the next 4 years will be hell on earth. Our government is dysfunctional and greedy. Controlled more by monied PACs than by virtue or conscience. In terms of personal freedom and having a healthy, well educated, non-warring culture, it might be hell on earth now.

I'm glad that BO is such a strong symbol for some Americans. I'm not convinced that it really matters who is in the oval office.

The Nobel Peace prize winner we have there now has perpetuated the war in Aghanistan, and is guilty of at least 1/2 of the impeachment offenses that were brought by Congressman Kucinich against GW Bush. (list available)

Not saying he is "bad". Not saying he didn't do some good. Saying the system is rigged. Money talks. BS walks. As long as they can convince the "small people" that white and black matters, they can get more green. That doesn't seem perplexing to me.

A dope is a dope. A pretty girl is a pretty girl. Skin color has nothing to do with it.

Peace out!

Especially since I was personally affected by his policies.

However, I stick to my guns. If for no other reason, he surrounded himself with smart tough clever capitalists like himself. Dishonest, lying, egotistical, violent, self serving, inhuman prick. Not stupid.

Referring to the level that our nation's controllers think of us collectively.

Racism is terribly important in terms of eliminating it as efficiently as possible. The 1% are shrewd in their debate of racism and other divisive social factors. Sexism, homosexuality, religion, are just a few of the ways that wedges are driven between us. When in truth it seems to me that we're all about 90% in agreement. I think we all want some level of success. Love in our lives, and some level of fulfillment. Not a complete list. And it also seems to me that most of us are up for thoughtful solutions for the other 10%.

I agree.
This is my first post at this site and I was glad to read a bit of what I like to call "good"-sense, (not common).

Look, I am a liberal too, and what gets me is that so many people can't seem to imagine, (JUST IMAGINE...that's all), after so many years, why a person of color might at least WANT to feel good about this Presidents chances to help the nation the same way they felt about other Presidents, which just so happened to be white?
I mean, trust me, he hasn't helped me much either, but you know what...neither have any of the rest of them and I pledged my allegiance to the very same flag under them for as long as I've lived!

I almost feel silly trying to explain this to anyone anymore! I mean DAMN! It's like the hatred of some of these people is buried SO deeply within them that nothing and I mean NOTHING, including the almighty god that most of them claim to be living for can even reach it in order to nullify it.

I suppose they can play the game though if they like, but I know they see AT LEAST a little of this...racism. And I know they don't like the word because it causes emotions to surface that they don't want, (or perhaps know HOW) to deal with, but THIS President, for SOME reason, has got their panties in such a twisted, stinky bunch that they can't even walk straight anymore!

If I were white, (and I just may be), I'd be able to see it; at least a LITTLE of it! HELL, even HITLER himself could see what's going on here. (But then again Hitler wasn't as scared as some of them)

I guess it just hurts a little to know that SO many people in this day and age in America still act as if it's ALL MADE UP...racism. Sad really. Insane, to be more precise. And if that's not enough, we also have to put up with what I like to call...the GOP in drag; supposed Democrats that seem to share many of the same views as republicans. They walk among us acting as if they're in tune with the democratic agenda, while basically just getting in the way!

Look, I get it. Many is the time that I've had to admit to things I really didn't want to, even though it was difficult, but it was only by first admitting that there was a problem that I was able to begin a process of finding a solution for it. Could it really be that hard for others to do the same? Apparently so.
