Darrell Issa has SERIOUSLY pissed off the wrong black people

Exhibit A

Washington D.C. (May 17, 2013)—Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement regarding the decision by Chairman Darrell Issa to go back on his commitment to hold a public hearing with Ambassador Thomas Pickering and Admiral Michael Mullen, who led the Accountability Review Board that examined security in Benghazi, and instead issue a subpoena to compel Ambassador Pickering to appear at a private, closed-door deposition with staff:

“Today’s subpoena is a stark example of extreme Republican overreach and the shameful politicization of this tragedy. Chairman Issa’s accusations keep getting shot down one by one, but he simply resorts to even more extreme measures. After falsely accusing former Secretary Clinton of lying to Congress, falsely accusing the White House of deliberately misleading the American people, and falsely accusing the military of withholding critical assistance on the night of the attacks, the Chairman is now accusing Admiral Mullen, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Ambassador Pickering, a seven-time U.S. ambassador, of being complicit in a cover-up.

“Both Admiral Mullen and Ambassador Pickering have made clear that they stand ready and willing to testify at a public hearing to respond directly to these reckless accusations, but Chairman Issa is now imposing new conditions to keep them behind closed doors. The Chairman should reverse his decision, conduct a responsible and bipartisan investigation, and allow the American people to hear directly from these officials.” http://democrats.oversight.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5925:cummings-condemns-extreme-republican-overreach-on-benghazi&catid=3:press-releases&Itemid=49

Exhibit B
Attorney General Eric Holder had tough words for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) during Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing, criticizing the congressman's behavior as "unacceptable" and "shameful."

...Holder pressed on: "It is inappropriate and too consistent with the way in which you conduct yourself as a member of Congress. It's unacceptable, and it's shameful." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/15/eric-holder-darrell-issa_n_3280763.html

Exhibit C
U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, D-Tex., said she didn’t appreciate the tone of her colleagues. "I know that some of us have deep base-like voices," she said (to Issa). "It might sound like we’re not being friendly and happy, but I would appreciate a little civility in the questioning of the attorney general." Number23 edit: DAYUM!!! Go Sheila!! http://www.ibtimes.com/eric-holder-feuds-darrell-issa-calls-congressman-shameful-during-house-hearing-videos-1262683#

And lastly The Grio, a black publication, has just published an extraordinarily damning article about The Heritage Foundation begging Republicans to do nothing -- not legislate, not create policy, NOTHING -- except try to bring Obama down. http://thegrio.com/2013/05/16/heritage-to-republicans-dont-legislate-just-scandalize-obama/

Darrell better stay the hell away from any soul food joints for the next month or so.

1. Soooo, The Heritage Foundation has become the "Speaker" of the House?
Fri May 17, 2013, 07:47 PM
May 2013
In light of the white hot media spotlight on the administration, and to deflect attention from the many policy areas where Republicans don’t quite get along, the letter urges: “it is incumbent upon the House of Representatives to conduct oversight hearings on those actions, but it would be imprudent to do anything that shifts the focus from the Obama administration to the ideological differences within the House Republican Conference.”

“To that end, we urge you to avoid bringing any legislation to the House Floor that could expose or highlight major schisms within the conference. Legislation such as the Internet sales tax or the FARRM Act which contains nearly $800 billion in food stamp spending, would give the press a reason to shift their attention away from the failures of the Obama administration to write another ‘circular firing squad’ article.”

The letter is signed by Heritage Action’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael A. Needham.

I see a half day at the most scalding hot natural spring in my future.

You make a good point though. Their "minority outreach" has always been abysmal.

In the past week or so, we've had a Hispanic Republican Party official officially switch to the Dem party because of their hostility to minorities. We've had the 37th attempt to repeal Obamacare, and now we've got one of the dumbest members of Congress talking down to the first black Attorney General while trying (AGAIN) to smear the first black president. The three part-time staffers who head the GOP Minority Outreach Committee must be drowning themselves in their Cheerios.

MV otoh ostensibly purported to be 'soul', but they were terrible at it (and any other style they touched on).

Sorry to nitpick, but ... mentioning milli vanilli in the same sentence with PE ... it's just not right

Good to have you with us! Reminds me of this old Peanuts cartoon involving Lucy and Schroeder, I think. If memory serves, the panels follow Lucy trying desperately to impress Schroeder as he pounds away on his piano. She says something high-fallutin' that is total nonsense to he who knows more about music. Her punchline is "I'm never quite so stupid as when I'm being smart." So it goes with yet another clueless but still presumptuous as Hell republi-CON.

So I went ahead & tweeted every single one of the to remind them he is still part of the party of evil (more blatantly) & told them to check out Chuck D's tweet to see what the pros think of this tool.

On a side note I sent a tweet to Palin last night & because I was short on charcters used to instead of too & this douche actually replied to spell check me. But he didn't say anything about my comment about her being too dumb for faux news.

Now if Pickering would just write to issa ... in the form of an open letter posted on-line and sent to every major "news" outlet:

Chairman issa, I will attend and testify before your committee; however, I require an accommodation. Given the string of altered, out of context, and dishonest representations of the testimony of some of the preceding witnesses, particular - the witnesses that do not further your partisan, political narrative, I require that a stenographer, that I will employ, be present who will retain possession of his/her transcript, holding it in secret, until such time as the characterization of my testimony, differs from the actual record. At which point, the full transcript will be sent to the same media outlets that this letter appears.

And yes, there was a definite great big FU to Issa in Cumming's comments. He has had it up to here with the man and with excellent reason.

And that is an excellent point about the transparency. For all of their blubbering and whining about how "corrupt" this administration is, you'd think the Repubs would be holding all hearings in the middle of the closest shopping center at lunch time, not behind closed doors and whining that people aren't coming that haven't even been asked to come.

Issa has showed his behind and I do believe his shenanigans are going to come back and bite him on it.

Darrell is also ruthless hater of Obama.

I was shocked to look up his bio. His mom is Mormon of Czech background. Read the Wiki bit on him:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darrell_Issa

After leaving the military, Issa and his second wife, Kathy Stanton, moved back to the Cleveland area. They pooled their savings, sold their cars, and borrowed $50,000 from his family to invest in Quantum Enterprises, an electronics manufacturer run by a friend from Cleveland Heights that assembled bug zappers, CB radio parts and other consumer products for other companies. One of those clients, car alarm manufacturer Steal Stopper, would become the path to Issa's fortune. It was struggling badly, and he took control of it by foreclosing a $60,000 loan he had made to it when its founder, Joey Adkins, missed a payment. Adkins remained as an employee.[9]

Issa soon turned Steal Stopper around, to the point that it was supplying Ford with thousands of car alarms and negotiating a similar deal with Toyota. But early in the morning of September 7, 1982, the offices and factory of Quantum and Steal Stopper in the Cleveland suburb of Maple Heights, caught fire. The fire took three hours to put out. The buildings and almost all inventory within were destroyed. An investigation of the cause of the fire noted "suspicious burn patterns" with fires starting in two places aided by an accelerator such as gasoline.[9] Adkins said that Issa appeared to prepare for a fire by increasing the fire insurance policy 462% three weeks previously, and by removing computer equipment holding accounting and customer information. Adkins said that he thinks Issa set the fire on purpose. The insurance company was suspicious of arson and paid only about one-tenth the insured amount.[19]

36. A Washington ‘whodunit’: who fed bogus Benghazi ‘emails’ to the media? *UPDATE: a ‘glaring ommission

May 2013

Cross post from Politics 2013..

Wanted to add this Report to your thread, 23.. from Joy Reid.. she's On This. Can't imagine Issa being too happy about that.

It's really long.. so I've taken out enticing snips to lead you to the whole article..especially the Updates at the bottom of her Piece..

snip*** way down towards the end..

Whodunnit?

Maddow and others are calling on Karl to give up his source, since it appears he was used to transmit false information in order to plant the seeds of a media scandal. I doubt he will do that, both because it’s not in the nature of a journalist, especially in the small, cruel world that is Washington, to burn a source — even a bad one. Every political source has friends. And every reporter needs sources with friends.

The fact is, it will ultimately be up to good old fashioned sleuthing (or another, timely leak…) to figure out who fed bogus information to ABC and TWS. And my own sources say there is a fair amount of nervousness among Republican staffers on Capitol Hill right now over this potential story. So no one’s taking the risk of losing their jobs by talking.

So who could the leaker be?

***snip

UPDATE: A very trusted source of mine gave me a cryptic piece of advice yesterday, which was to take a look at the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. I didn’t know quite what to make of it at the time, but tonight it occurred to me: could someone on that committee also have been on the Select Committee on Intelligence, which is the one that got the email briefing in February?

snip***

Pretty juicy list! Note how stacked the minority side of the committee is with presidential aspirants, potential aspirants, a former aspirant, and some of the most hardcore tea party Senators, including some, like Rand Paul, John McCain and Kelly Ayotte, who have gone after, first Susan Rice, and then Hillary Clinton guns blazing on Benghazi. But only one of those Senators ALSO sits on the Select Committee on Intelligence — which is the one that my administration source says got the February briefing”

***snip

Suspense!

A Whole Lot More.. including who Joy Reid thinks could be the source passing bogus emails.

h/t Meta @ TOD http://blog.reidreport.com/2013/05/benghazi-emails-whodunit/

I so hope Jon Karl's "source" is sleuthed out. Wonder if he's shaking in his shoes yet or too arrogant to think "I could really get busted here!"?
