Wow, watching the news

Well, kind of "news" any way HLN. And they showed a NRA rep talking about why they did not attend the Town Hall on gun control.

He said " what are we going to talk about with him? Basketball?"

I just got a vision of a bell ringing and a treat sliding down a chute as the racist shit heads around the USA grunt happily.

Fucking hell, and no one on HLN even turned a hair. The clip was from Fox (of course) and Fox obviously saw nothing wrong with that statement.

Am I imagining things? Is this a sign of Political Correctness taking over my mind?

Nah - These guys are transparently pumping racism out for their drooling hordes to enjoy.

Full disclosure; I am a gun owner. Fuller disclosure - The NRA is absolutely not representing me or anyone I shoot with

And you're right the whistle is no longer required.

With Trump providing top cover we can see Republicans just being as racist as they wanna be.

thank for organizing and promoting and making clear WHO the racists and bigots and disgusting puke fucks are.

Personally I think he hates his supporters, despises them.

But he has figured out a way to get them to

a. come out of the dark
b. say shit in the open they might have not otherwise said
c. make it clear we have two groups in America, overt racists and bigots who wish physical harm on most of America, and those who dont...

I don't have cable at home but I can't tell you how many times these news and entertainment shows have outrageous racists comments or digs like that and no one on the show blinks an eye .

I was in a room and TMZ was on and one of these racists one liners inserted in conversation came out
An old white guy was there with me and pseudo listening like me I guess and he turned to me and said what the hell was that suppose to mean huh?
Gave me hope !!!!
Hope that not everybody is taking this in unnoticed esp. people not targeted by this semi subliminal racist shit though I hate to call it that as it is really right out there but it is the lack of reaction, or ignoring it that makes it so as if it should be acceptable and standard.

Again I can't tell you how many times I have seen this and I am not looking for it just in a place it is being broadcast
What I noticed here is someone will come in to the thread and say they are white and play basketball or love fried chicken so when they see these things they don't consider it racist .
So stereotyping doesn't count as a dig but the NRA rep should have been speaking about gun laws
Remember the president was asking for a town hall meet on guns and they turn it to what can this black president talk about? Basketball.
The racist haters at home get a good heehaw and that's what they tune in for with these shows
And the interviewer never asks or says the meeting is about guns sir and you are a rep of the NRA I hope people can see the difference
As I said I do have some hope but don't question what you saw and is obvious.
Plus they chose to lift and rerun that fox clip from another report so it was not a live interview slip they couldn't control

We can't win for losing.

White folks have got to call it out. Clearly. LOUDLY. Otherwise, this BS will never, ever die.

It's like when Trump or some other right wing conservative spews some racist bullshit, half of this web site can't come down on it fast or hard enough. But these same folks tearing into Trump become deaf, blind and mute when a DU or "liberal" "darling" says something that is damn near as ignorant, bigoted or offensive. And they often will use the exact same language that Trump supporters or the folks supporting the NRA imbeciles in your OP will use to defend them.

That the folks who object to this language are "too sensitive." That they are "race baiters" -- the grand fucking pooba of racist calling cards used by privileged, right wing fuckwads the entire world over -- or that the people who can hear the dog whistles simply "don't understand" what it is that the person is trying to say. When you are CONSISTENTLY "misunderstood" by minorities, when you can barely muster up a "meh" for the vilest Republican attacks on women's and minority rights but fly into a spittle flecked, name calling rage when a black person or woman says something you don't like or disagree with, you might need to stop getting upset when people grab their bellies laughing whenever you call yourself a 'liberal'.

You reacted that way to that comment because you are a decent, respectful human being. And what's sad is that the right wing has polluted this discussion so much that you are actually questioning your own reaction to a really ignorant and offensive comment as "political correctness" when in fact, it's just correct. Nothing "political" about it.

it, but we white folk need to be grateful that you Black folk dont react to all this shit the way I KNOW we would if the shoe were on the other foot.

Time after time, insult after insult, shooting after shooting, you seem to have a way to react without doing the worst and I know what most white folks would do and that is self evident if you look around at how we react now and we HAVE the power now!

Speaking of BB, I dvr all Warriors games and watch them the next morning...Steph Curry is the greatest player I have ever seen and I have seen Dr. J. Magic, Russell, Chamberlain, Jordan, Bird, Pistol Pete, Kareem, etal. I have played and coached and referred, no I am not an expert, but it is my opinion he is ALREADY the greatest player that ever lived.

Maybe he doesnt have the numbers yet, but he will get em...Pay close attention, he is so fast, so good, you can miss the brilliance without slow mo...this guy makes me emotional, it is in my blood this game, he is the MASTER
