(2,034 posts)this past weekend? I hear it all the time when I listen to Black Progressive Radio. A caller today summed it up perfectly. You have to come into our communities and we need to get to know you. If you are not willing to come and talk to us and treat us with respect, what makes you think we are going to vote for you?

(3,580 posts)Or join the local party. Get on a board or committee. It's what the teabags did where I live. The teabags have infiltrated local politics so they will have a base to groom people to move on.

(11,833 posts)I try to communicate that to everyone too. Think globally, act locally. In my local city council elections today my favorite candidate won by merely a few hundred votes. That's where one can begin to affect positive change!
