"How DU still doesn't get it", episode number 36,328

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024776820

Even after the post near the bottom explaining how this is standard procedure, and even after I called everyone out on their latent racial assumptions, the derpitude in that thread is boiling over...

Who knew we were such a violent people with such little regard for the rule of law?

Idk, maybe doing some vigilante justice? Lynchings?

I really want to know what they think we are going to do to the jurors, that we have not done to Mr. Zimmerman? Nobody has lynched him yet and he is the killer, so why do theythink the jury is in danger? Thats why im just about done here. They make assumpitions about us as a group and do not realize how fucking racist it sounds to assume that the jury is in danger because they are no longer anonymous. Nobody can point to a time when a group of jurors was murdered by a mob of black people for a bad verdict. But there they go, getting all fearful for the jurors because black people are mad. The lack of self awareness around this place is astonishing. So quick to point out racism from the right, that no one notices themselves saying racist shit. Like assuming that the jurors are in danger. Blows my mind.

Reminds me of someone saying a few days after the verdict came in that Trayvon was actually the one on trial, not Zimmy.

I love how some are still defending Zimmerman. The poor innocent jury came to the only conclusion they could. How dare the judge follow the law and release the names like they always do!
I wonder if anyone is ever going to tell us of a case where a mob of angry blacks lynched a jury? This must happen all the time since they are so afraid. Just like the killer ecigs.

You always know how to break it down.

Something about that sounds like some weird science fiction movie. I picture the dude from Brother from Another Planet as the (unknown) alien leader of an angry mob of Negroes about to bust some jury ass. Also starring Samuel L. Jackson and guest starring Snoop Dogg as Mobster #8.

1. Even after post #50 explained how this was the law and a normal procedure in Florida, and even after I illustrated how incredibly rare post-trial attacks on jurors were, there was still a tidal wave of "Careless judge putting innocent juror lives in grave danger", and "Now nobody will ever, ever, ever want to serve on a jury again!" -talking points...Nevermind the fact that 99.999999998% of jury trials take place in mostly empty courtrooms with no media coverage whatsoever...

2. It was entertaining to see posters contort their words after I called them out -- It went from "Angry people are certainly going to find them now and seek retribution for the verdict", to "I didn't mean *black people* were going to track them down! For all you know some crazed RW nut may wish to do them harm!!! And what about the media harassment?!" Extra credit for those criticizing ME for being the one to bring race into the discussion when it was the danced-around-but-never-mentioned point of the thread...

3. Is anyone else shocked at how many posters believe it is a 100% certainty that one of us will seek revenge now that the names are public record? Are they really that far out of touch? Have they bought in that much to the stereotypes??

4. That thread just goes to show how long-lasting and far-reaching the "Angry Black Mob" storyline from Zimmerman's defense team became, and how deeply embedded it is in the American psyche...Remember, it was the "Angry Black Mob" who forced the cops into making an arrest, forced the prosecutor into manufacturing a case, and threatened to riot if they didn't get the desired outcome...

The same person who said that about some right winger taking the law into their own hands is also the same nit wit that said that I am Australian and that Obama's mother worked for the CIA. Jesus H. Christ

Who needs Alex Jones when you got folks like that running around?

It's the same shit that always goes down on those threads which is why I don't even bother trying to reason with them.

I've got to temporarily remove posters from my ignore list to even answer their posts...

After all this time, I do wish that certain posters would stop switching to their sock accounts just to challenge me on Zimmerman threads...That shit has gotten stale after 2+ years...I'd have a modicum of respect if they at least had the stones to attack me from their regular screen names...

that didn't happen (blacks rioting) than over what actually happened (racist thug freed because the person he killed was black).

and people acting like this has never happened before when it's law in florida. the same thing happened with casey anthony case as i mentioned.
